100 Thieves has won its first ever League Championship Series title as an organization after sweeping Team Liquid in the finals of the 2021 LCS Championship. 100 Thieves will attend the 2021 World Championship representing North America as its #1 seed.

Despite being unable to win a game in the series, Team Liquid came in as the favorite to win the LCS Championship due to its 3-1 victories over Cloud9 and TSM in the first two rounds of the upper bracket before it beat 100 Thieves 3-2 to qualify for the finals undefeated. 100 Thieves, on the other hand, enjoyed a first round bye after finishing 2nd in the LCS Summer Split, and after beating Evil Geniuses 3-2, 100 found itself in the lower bracket after losing to TL 3-2.

100 Thieves then faced off against Cloud9, who had secured the final Worlds 2021 spot alongside 100 and TL after defeating TSM in the previous lower bracket series. 100 Thieves dispatched of Cloud9 3-1 and then rode that momentum to a final sweep in its rematch against Team Liquid.

The win is a poetic form of vindication for the inaugural 100 Thieves roster, who, after finishing 1st in its very split in the spring of 2018, qualified for the finals of the 2018 NA LCS Spring Playoffs only to be eliminated by Team Liquid 3-0. 100 Thieves did not make another LCS final since until its 3-0 win against TL today; 2018 was also the first and last year 100 attended the World Championship.

With 100 Thieves as the #1 seed representing North America at the World Championship, Team Liquid will settle for the #2 seed. Cloud9, who lost to 100 Thieves yesterday, will begin Worlds 2021 in the Play-In as the LCS's #3 seed.
