After a five-game epic, Team Liquid has come out on top against 100 Thieves in the upper bracket of the 2021 League Championship Series Championship. Team Liquid will advance to the finals, while 100 Thieves' path to the finals will feature one more match against either TSM or Cloud9.

Both teams came into the series having already qualified for the 2021 League of Legends World Championship, but the lesser stakes did not reduce the intensity of the competition.

The series went all five games, with 100 Thieves coming back from a 12,000 gold deficit to win game three only for Team Liquid to win game four and five to take the series.

Team Liquid has been on a complete and utter rampage throughout the 2021 LCS Championship. TL was criticized for not being able to compete with the teams higher than its placing in the standings, but throughout the post-season, has defeated Cloud9, TSM, and 100 Thieves by respective scores of 3-1, 3-1, and 3-2. Not only are those three teams the only others still in the post-season along with TL, but all were seeded higher than the 5th seed TL at 4th, 1st, and 2nd, respectively.

100 Thieves, who received a first round bye in the 2021 LCS Championship due to its 2nd place finish in the LCS Summer Split, was unable to follow up its 3-2 win against Evil Geniuses with another five-game triumph, and will instead wait at the end of the lower bracket for its next opponent.

Cloud9 and TSM will face off next, with the winner advancing to face 100 Thieves and qualifying for the Worlds 2021 alongside 100 and TL. If 100 Thieves wants a rematch against Team Liquid in the final, it will have to defeat whichever team is left standing after the showdown between Cloude9 and TSM.
