Evil Geniuses and 100 Thieves played an epic five game series in round 2 of the upper bracket of the 2021 League Championship Series Championship, and while 100 came away from the series as the victor, EG's win in game 4 featured what could be considered as the LCS play of the year by AD carry Kyle "Danny" Sakamaki.

With their backs against the wall and 100 Thieves on match point, EG's players needed a miracle, and Danny gave them one on Tristana. Danny singlehandedly turned a late game teamfight against 100 Thieves in favor of Evil Geniuses by utilizing Tristana's cooldown resets upon kills to get a triple kill. Danny then cut 100 Thieves' wave to stop the remaining two players — top laner Kim "Ssumday" Chan-ho and mid laner Felix "Abbedagge" Braun — from pushing into the EG base.

Danny had done plenty at this point, but rather than safely Rocket Jump out of the situation, he opted to use it as a bait to outplay Ssumday and utilize his absurd damage and resets to take down Abbedagge for an unofficial Pentakill. EG ended up coming back in the game off of Danny's play, where the AD carry dominated one more fight in the 100 Thieves base before cracking the nexus.

Play-by-play caster David "Phreak" Turley and color caster Sam "Kobe" Hartman-Kenzler understandably lost their minds during Danny's performance alongside essentially every LCS co-streaming partner.

Phreak highlighted the incredible rise of Danny during his performance. Going from EG Prodigies in the amateur scene all the way to the LCS this summer at age 17, Danny skipped his high school graduation ceremony to make his debut.

Danny proved to be a linchpin for a previously unstable EG bot lane, and was named 2nd All-Pro AD carry in the LCS Summer Split and despite playing only half the season, was impressive enough to win the Rookie of the Year award as well.

After EG won game 4 off the back of Danny's transcendent Tristana performance, Kobe turned to Phreak and declared, "Danny is the best rookie we've ever had in the history of the LCS." EG did not end up winning game 5, but there is no doubt that Danny has solidified himself as a new, homegrown star in the LCS. Should EG defeat C9 to keep its season alive in the lower bracket of the 2021 LCS Championship tomorrow, expect Danny to be an integral part of his team's victory.
