2021 LCK Summer split playoff details

The 2021 LCK Summer split finals will take place on Aug 28, at the CJ ENM Studios in Goyang, Ilsan. It will be held without a live audience on site, due to the rise in COVID-19 cases.

Round 1 & 2 of the 2021 LCK Summer split playoffs will be held at the LCK Arena, located at LoL Park. Round 1 of the playoffs will be held on Aug 18 & 19; 3rd & 6th place teams will face off on the 18th, while 4th & 5th place teams will face off on the 19th.

The winners of round 1 playoffs will face off against the 1st & 2nd place teams in round 2. The 1st place team of the regular split will be able to choose their opponents [winners of round 1 playoffs], where they’ll face off on the 21st. The 2nd place team of the regular split will face off against the other winners of round 1 playoffs on the 22nd. All playoff matches will be played in a best-of-five format, with each match starting at 5pm local time.

The total prize pool for the LCK Summer split is 400,000,000 KRW [~345,949 USD]. The Summer split champions will receive a total prize money of 200,000,000 KRW [~172,974 USD] as well as a 1st seed ticket to this year’s world championship. The runner-up will receive 100,000,000 KRW [86,487USD], 3rd place team will receive 50,000,000 KRW [43,243 USD] and 4th place team will receive 25,000,000 KRW [21,621 USD].

The 2021 LCK Regional Finals, the qualifier tournament to determine the 3rd and 4th seed of this year’s world championships, will take place on Aug 31, over the span of 3 days. Just like last year, it will take place over three rounds; round 1, 2, and the finals, in a king-of-the-hill format.

2021 LCK Regional Finals

This year, LCK will have 4 tickets to Worlds. As such, the two teams that make it to the finals of this tournament will both make it to Worlds, with the finals determining which team will become 3rd or 4th seed. The 3rd seed team will be seeded directly into groups, while the 4th seed team will be seeded into the play-in stages.

Except for the 1st and 2nd seed, the four teams with the most amount of championship points will play in the regional finals. Out of those four teams, the team with the most amount of championship points will automatically qualify for the finals, thus also auto-qualifying for Worlds.
