On August 6, in the 2021 LCK Summer Split, kt Rolster faced DRX and Gen.G played T1. Kt Rolster was one loss away from being eliminated from the playoffs, but they kept their hopes up by defeating DRX 2-1. In the second match, T1 defeated Gen.G 2-1 and collected their 10th win this season.

DRX took the lead in the first match as they scored twice in the bot lane. Hong "Pyosik" Chang-hyeon's Kindred led the dives. However, DRX wasn't able to snowball. Kt Rolster tried to earn time for Ziggs to scale and there weren't any big fights for a while. As kt Rolster cut off Pyosik's Kindred, they started to come back. The most important fight came at the sixth dragon, where kt Rolster collected the Infernal Dragon's soul. Afterward, they slew Baron and the Elder Dragon as well to end the game.

Again, DRX had a good start. They took first blood in the bot lane and collected additional kills in the jungle as well, but again, they failed to snowball. The two teams gave and took leads for a while. The game tilted towards kt Rolster as Kennen and Lissandra both bought Deathcaps, and they pushed DRX fiercely. However, kt Rolster made poor decisions at DRX's Nexus and gave up an Ace. There wasn't enough time for kt Rolster's champions to revive before DRX destroyed their Nexus.

Game 3 was kt Rolster all the way. The game was rather slow as first blood came at the 10-minute mark, but as kt Rolster started to collect kills, they took the lead. From that point on, they never let go of the lead. After widening the global gold difference to 10K, kt Rolster had no trouble in winning fights. By defeating DRX, kt Rolster kept their hopes up for the playoffs.

T1 and Gen.G had a quiet start. It was T1 who took the first move by diving the top lane. Through the dive, Kim "Canna" Chang-dong's Jayce scaled well. Gen.G hit back when Gwak "Bdd" Bo-seong landed Syndra's Scatter the Weak on three champions. They slew Baron right away and caught up with T1. However, as T1 had a big teamfight win around the fifth dragon, they took Baron as well. The game didn't go long afterward. With a big lead, T1 penetrated through Gen.G's defense.

Unlike the first game, game 2 was full of fights from early in the game. Noh "Burdol" Tae-yoon's Irelia had a good start as Gen.G won a skirmish, but T1 collected turret gold through their macro and took the lead. The game continued to be close, but after Burdol collected a triple kill in front of the dragon pit, no one from T1 was able to stop Burdol’s Irelia.

In game 3, the two teams changed the draft pattern completely. While Gen.G picked Lulu for their mid laner Gwak "Bdd" Bo-seong, T1 picked Orianna and Kennen, and aimed for teamfights. At the first Rift Herald, T1 had a great fight and picked off several champions as well as taking the Rift Herald. In mid lane, Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok took priority and didn't let go of it. Within 20 minutes, the global gold difference was at 7K. Gen.G managed to steal Baron and prevented T1 from getting the dragon's soul, but that was about it. In the second Baron fight, T1 swept Gen.G's champions and destroyed their Nexus to collect their 10th win of the season.
