The eight seeds in the 2021 League Championship Series Championship have been secured, and now that the regular season has concluded, the playoff bracket has been set. The top eight teams from the LCS Summer Split have been seeded, which took until the very last game of the season to decide.

The start of week 9 saw the final seed in the LCS Championship up for grabs and FlyQuest, Golden Guardians, and Counter Logic Gaming fighting to extend their respective seasons. FlyQuest simply had to defeat Golden Guardians on Friday to punch its playoff ticket, but was unable to win.

Golden Guardians ended the week 2-1, and needed CLG, who was eliminated from post-season contention after losing to Dignitas on Friday, to win against FlyQuest in the final match of the Summer Split. CLG got the job done, flashing Golden Guardians emotes as the 10th place squad took down FlyQuest and punched GG's ticket to the LCS Championship.

Evil Geniuses ended the season tied with Cloud9 in wins with 28, but because of EG's positive head-to-head record against C9, it secured the 3rd seed and will face off against 6th seed Dignitas in the first round. On the other side of the bracket is 4th seed Cloud9 and 5th seed Team Liquid, which will feature a rematch of the finals of the LCS Mid-Season Showdown, which C9 won 3-2 this past spring.

The loser of EG vs DIG will drop down to the lower bracket, which is single elimination, to fight for survival against 7th seed Immortals. The loser of C9 vs TL will do the same against 7th seed 8th seed Golden Guardians. The winner of EG vs DIG will face off against 100 Thieves, and the winner of C9 vs TL will face off against TSM. The winners of both second round upper bracket matches will guarantee a top 3 finish, and subsequently, two of the three Worlds seeds to represent NA.

The losers of the TSM and 100 Thieves matches — both teams' first playoff matches due to a top 2 finish in the Summer Split guaranteeing a first round bye — will face off against the winners of the two matches featuring Immortals and Golden Guardians.

The winners of those two matches will play one another, and the team left standing will face off against the loser of the final upper bracket match. Those three teams will qualify for the World Championship, with the winner of the final lower bracket match playing against the only undefeated team left in the bracket for the LCS Championship and the 1st Worlds seed.
