In FlyQuest's last match of week 4 of the 2021 League of Legends Championship Series Summer Split, the team's roster will be sporting a different look. FLY Academy top laner Colin "Kumo" Zhao, AD carry Frank "Tomo" Lam and support David "Diamond" Bérubé have been called up to the LCS for FlyQuest's match against Golden Guardians.

This marks the first time that FlyQuest top laner Eric "Licorice" Ritchie and AD carry Johnson "Johnsun" Nguyen have not started for the LCS squad in 2021. Diamond was FlyQuest's starting support for the majority of the 2021 LCS Spring Split, but was swapped for the more experienced Han "Dreams" Min-kook in week 9. Until now, Diamond has played for FLY Academy throughout the summer while Dreams has retained the starting LCS position he seized in the last week of spring.

FlyQuest pointed towards the hard work and success of Kumo, Tomo, and Diamond on the aggressive FLY Academy squad as the reason for the trio's LCS start against GG, but it goes without saying that FlyQuest could afford to shake things up. FLY's individual players have been solid, but the team synergy has been completely missing for the majority of the LCS Summer Split. FlyQuest currently sits tied for 8th place in the LCS with Counter Logic Gaming at a 9-20 record.

Mid laner Cristian "Palafox" Palafox, who has spent extensive time playing with Diamond on FLY this year and Cloud9 Academy in the past, will remain in the starting lineup with star jungler Brandon Brandon Joel "Josedeodo" Villegas as the battery that has continued to catalyze many an early game advantage for FlyQuest.

FLY will look for a more cohesive mid game from its Sunday roster to go along with what have been strong individual laning phases in the early game.
