On day 9 of the 2021 LCK Summer split, DWG KIA faced off against DRX in the first match of the day. Fielding the same starting roster as they did in their last match, DWG KIA once again managed to sweep DRX 2-0. The jungler for the team, Kim “Malrang” Geun-seong, was named the Player of the Game (PoG) in game 2 for his performance on Rumble.

After the victory, Malrang joined the press room at LoL Park for a post-match interview.

Thoughts on the victory?

We’re on a two-match victory; the fact that we’re on a streak makes me happier than the fact that we won.

You’ve had all sorts of trials and tribulations throughout your career. From the moment you’ve been chosen to start for the team to actually playing and winning, tell us how you reflect upon my experience.

When I finished the last scrim before my debut on DWG KIA, I’ve come to question myself what my ceiling is as a player. After playing two matches, I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m nowhere satisfied yet.

As a jungler, what kind of players are ShowMaker and Canyon?

Both of them are better than most of the players that I’ve faced, whether that may be laning or in macro & rotations. Especially Canyon; he’s a jungler himself, so he makes my gameplay a lot easier.

In previous interviews with various DK players, they stated that players may go to different lanes than they do currently. Are you also preparing to go to other lanes?

I’ll keep that a secret for now.

Throughout your career, you’ve had your fair share of troubles, whether it may be through your individual performance, or perhaps even being part of a team that didn’t perform well. What can you tell us about your experience with such a dominant team like DWG KIA?

Both the players and the coaching staff are very detailed in analyzing the game, and the team atmosphere itself is very bright.

Can you tell me more about playing with a Canyon, a jungler that is now playing in mid?

He’s very good at last hitting blue buff [laughter]. He also knows where to be in the enemy jungle at the right time, so he’s also good at stealing buffs as well.

Patch 11.11 enabled all sorts of champions in the jungle. From fast-clear, power-farming champions to those that are more gank heavy, which would you say that fits your playstyle more?

I like to play aggressively, so I think junglers that like to gank are a better fit to my playstyle.

So far, you’ve mostly played Rumble and put on a stellar performance. Would you say that Rumble is the champion you’re most confident in?

I’d actually rank him 4th, or even lower on my own jungle tier list.

Lastly, is there anything you’d like to say?

I’ll try to keep my form up to put on a great performance in the future as well. Thank you.
