Ersin "Blue" Gören will not be competing in week 1 of the 2021 League of Legends European Championship Summer Split. The SK Gaming mid laner was hospitalized a few days prior to the organization's announcement regarding his health, which was made via Twitter on June 7.

Blue was hospitalized for chest pains and respiratory issues, and while doctors have confirmed the issues with his health are not related to COVID-19, he will miss the first week of competiton when the LEC Summer Split resumes this Friday.

SK Gaming anticipates Blue to be fully recovered and ready to start in week 2, but in the meantime, SK Gaming Prime mid laner Mihail "twohoyrz" Petkov has been promoted to the LEC roster in Blue's place. This will be twohoyrz's LEC debut, and he has been practicing with SK Gaming's LEC team for the past few days since Blue's hospitalization.

This is the most recent roster adjustment SK Gaming has made, but it isn't the first move made by the organization ahead of the 2021 LEC Summer Split. Recently, the team announced that it would be parting ways with jungler Kristian "TynX" Hansen.

In lieu of TynX's departure from the starting roster, support Erik "Treatz" Wessén will be roleswapping to the jungle. Treatz is the second LEC player to roleswap to jungle before the Summer Split after Fnatic announced that Gabriël "Bwipo" Rau would be migrating from top lane to jungle.

Taking Treatz's place in the starting position is head coach Jesse "Jesiz" Le. Jesiz started off his career as a mid laner, but for the past half-decade has alternated between coaching staff positions and starting support for organizations like Fnatic and Misfits, the latter most recently in the spring of 2019. Thomas "Tom" Diakun, who joined SK Gaming as an analyst at the start of 2020 and has served as assistant coach throughout 2021, has been promoted to head coach in place of Jesiz.
