Kang "solo" Keun-chul is reportedly retiring from pro-VALORANT, based on comments he made at a press conference on Saturday.

The 33-year-old VALORANT professional served as the In-game leader for NUTURN Gaming over the past 5 months. During his stint with the team, he helped them qualify to the first-ever International LAN over Korea's Vision Strikers. At that LAN, he helped lead the team to a scrappy but impressive run to third place. During that run, they pulled off an incredible upset over Version1 that was arguably the most exciting match in VALORANT to date.

Before going pro in VALORANT, solo played professional Counter-Strike for over 15 years in Korea. During that time, he won a wide variety of events with various teams, including winning the IEM IV Asian Championship Finals in 2010 and the WEM 2010 championship with WeMade FOX, as well as the Counter-Strike Online World Championship 2015 with Project KR.

He leaves behind a storied legacy across two esports, and will surely be remembered as one of the best Riflers in Korean CS and VALORANT history.
