Afreeca Freecs signed Jang “Cain” Nu-ri as their new head coach. Cain had played in Najin back from 2012 through 2015 and started his coaching career in CJ Entus. He later moved to the LCS and coached Cloud9 and Team Liquid. In Team Liquid, Cain won four consecutive LCS championships and was selected as the best head coach for the 2019 LCS Summer.

On joining Afreeca Freecs, Cain said, “I’m happy to return to the LCK in a long time and join Afreeca Freecs. I’ll do my best so that we could show satisfying performances for the fans in the summer season.”

Afreeca Freecs CEO Chae Jeong-won said, “To make up for the disappointing spring season, we signed Cain who’s an experienced leader. As much as he has many championships in the LCS, we’ll present a new different Afreeca Freecs.”

Last spring, Afreeca Freecs had a disappointing season. They had 5 wins and 13 losses and ended up 9th overall.
