Twitch streamer Ludwig Ahgren announced on Saturday that on the last day of his Subathon, which will end on Tuesday, April 13th at 9 PM PST, he will be donating $5 to charity for every subscriber he gets. The streamer is raising money for the Humane Society of America and St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

The Humane Society of the United States is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the humane treatment of all animals. They advocate against fur farms, puppy mills, animal cosmetics testing, and more.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is a children's hospital dedicated to researching treatments for childhood cancers and other pediatric diseases. Donations to St. Jude's will contribute to their mission of treating kids with cancer at no cost to the affected families. At St. Judge, families with sick children never receive any bill for the treatment, travel, housing, or food.

Ludwig's subathon rules were simple. The timer was extended with each subscription and donation of at least 500 bits. The streamer set a limit of 31 days on the stream from the start of the stream, and it seems that the stream is indeed going to run the distance, since every time the clock nears expiration, a new flurry of subscriptions inevitably roll in.

Ludwig's historic subathon has wavered between a few moments left on the clock and several hours left on the clock for over a week now. During his contiguous stream, he already shot well past 200,000 active Twitch subscribers. As of writing this article, he has over 242,000 subscribers and climbing. He may soon surpass Tyler "Ninja" Blevins 269,000+ all-time highest subscriber record.
