The 2021 LCK Spring Split Finals is just around the corner. Tomorrow, Apr. 10, DWG KIA and Gen.G will have the final clash for the LCK crown. As the winner of the match will head to the first MSI in two years, both teams are determined to bring home the international trophy.
Inven reached out to Lee “Wolf” Jae-wan and Bok “Reapered” Han-gyu to get their predictions for the finals. Wolf picked the world champions:
“I believe DWG KIA would win 3-1,” he said, “DWG have shown many drafts up till now and they still have a lot tucked in under their sleeves. I think they would have the edge.”
Reapered, however, disagreed:
“I predict a 3-2 Gen.G win. There would be several reasons, but I think Gen.G would parry DWG KIA’s strengths well. It’ll be a great match,” said Reapered, also chiming in with his personal wishes: “I also personally kind of want to see Gen.G win because they don’t have a championship title yet.”
DWG KIA has won every tournament they’ve participated in since last summer. As the reigning world champions, they had a great spring season, collecting 16 wins and matching their success from 2020 Summer. They are set to win their second LCK title and their first spring season championship.
Gen.G doesn’t have an LCK championship yet, despite some great regular-season records. Gen.G's hopes are high after taking down nemeses T1 in the semis and are looking to upset DWG and bring home the first trophy for the org.
The grand finals of the 2021 LCK Spring Split will be held at 5 p.m. on April 10, in an online format.
