Rogue has eliminated FC Schalke 04 Esports from the 2021 League of Legends European Championship Spring Playoffs in a 3-1 win. Rogue has guaranteed a top 3 post-season finish, and will face off against G2 Esports next to see who will meet MAD Lions in the finals.

Rogue entered the lower bracket of the Spring Playoffs after a 3-1 loss to MAD Lions in the first round, and while its loss was originaly billed as Rogue underperforming, MAD's 3-1 win over G2 yesterday rekindled some hope in Rogue in lieu of MAD exceeding expectations.

Speaking of exceeding expectations, Schalke 04 took G2 Esports to five games in its first series of the Spring Playoffs, but fell just short of the reverse sweep. Fnatic, who had just eliminated SK Gaming, found itself against S04 in the next lower bracket match, but the old king of EU was severely outmatched and was swept by the royal blue.

Schalke 04 came into its series against Rogue with plenty of momentum, but hit a brick wall in its matchup against Rogue. Rogue's methodical style won out convincingly in game 1, and while Schalke got a big early lead in game 2, a 43 minute win in a dominant early game is a less-than-confident finish in a best-of-five series. Sure enough, Rogue re-stabilized in game 3, and despite a mid-game slip-up, S04 was unable to mount a comeback and RGE took the series to match point.

Game 4 was back and forth, and S04 was able to gain many advantages in its aggressive, chaotic style, but with Rogue sticking to its game plan on strong play from top laner Andrei "Odoamne" Pascu on his signature Kennen, the battle of attrition went in Rogue's favor, and with it, the series victory. S04 is the third team to be eliminated from the 2021 LEC Spring Playoffs after SK Gaming and Fnatic.
