Jeon "Ray" Ji-Won has parted ways with Rainbow7. The South Korean top laner changed the spelling of his tag to "Rey" when joining the Liga Latinoamérica organization, which in Spanish, translates to 'sea', but has seemingly reverted to his tag's original spelling upon parting ways with R7.

After attending the 2020 League of Legends World Championship, Rainbow7 gained global recognition for its talent, particularly in the form of jungler Brandon Joel "Josedeodo" Villegas. Changes were made before the 2021 LLA Opening with Josedeodo's departure, and Ray was signed as the team's new top laner after a brief stint with KT Rolster in the 2020 League of Legends Champions Korea Spring Split.

With Rey in the top lane, R7 finished 4th in the LLA Opening and qualified for the  LLA Opening Playoffs as the 4th seed. Unfortunately for R7, 4th place is where the team would end its post-season after a 1-3 loss to All Knights.

In his tweet regarding the parting of ways with Rainbow7, Ray thanked the organization and its fans, as well as the entire LLA community as a whole. Ray is looking for a team where he feels he can showcase all of his abilities, and has stated he is willing to play in any region and go through any process an organization feels is proper in vetting him.

Ray's flexibilty in free agency is unsurprised. Not only has the South Korean top laner played at several levels of competitive League of Legends, but he has also established himself as quite the globetrotter throughout his career.

Ray got his start on EDward Gaming sister team EDG Future in the summer of 2014, and remained with the team through May 2015 after its rebrand to AD Gaming before the 2015 season. After starting for EDG for the remainder of 2015, Ray left China to play for Apex Gaming, and later, its sister team Apex Pride, in North America throughout the first seven months of 2016.

Ray was signed to Dignitas in September 2016 and remained with the org through the end of the year before signing with Cloud9. Ray enjoyed success in a platoon role with Jeong "Impact" Eon-young on Cloud9, but never on a consistent basis. After 2017, Ray re-joined EDward Gaming, where he remained as the starting top laner through the 2019 League of Legends Pro League Spring Split.

Rey returned to his home region of South Korea to play for KT Rolster in 2020, which brought the number of regions in which he had competed up to 3, and after competing in the LLA in recent months with Rainbow7, it's no surprise Rey is ready and willing to compete in any and all regions under any circumstances after competing in multiple leagues across four regions.
