Recipients of the ‘Player of the Split’ category in the LCK Awards have been announced.
On Mar. 28th, the regular split of the 2021 LCK Spring came to its conclusion. DWG KIA’s mid laner, Heo “ShowMaker” Su, DRX’s jungler, Hong “Pyosik” Chang-hyeon, and Hanwha Life Esports’ mid laner, Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon, all received 1,000 POG (Player of the Game) points throughout the split. In recognition for their performance, all three of these players received the ‘Player of the Split’ award.
ShowMaker has been a key member in DWG KIA’s ever-dominant performance since last year. This split, he played a total of 12 champions, some of which included Syndra, Zoe, Viktor, and Azir. He was praised for his phenomenal performance this split, and because of it, it solidified him as one of the best mid laners of the current times.
Just like ShowMaker, Chovy’s in the same shoes. He has been Hanwha Life Esports’ biggest win condition. From abnormal CS numbers to incredible laning and playmaking, there were many matches throughout the split where he solo carried games.
Despite DRX ending the split in 5th place with a 9-9 record, Pyosik still managed to get 1,000 POG points this split. In a team full of rookie talent, Pyosik proved that he has what it takes to be a leader this split.
The regular split MVP category of the 2021 LCK Spring split Awards will be announced in Apr. 2nd, All LCK Team in Apr. 6th, and the Finals MVP will be announced on Apr. 10th, following the conclusion of the finals.
