Activision Blizzard is planning to lay off more workers in the near future at their European offices, according to a report published on Friday by gamesindustry.biz. This would be the fourth round of layoffs that the company has carried out in the last year.

According to the report, the company has entered the required consultation period for layoffs at offices in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands. The cuts are all reportedly related to publishing functions and shouldn't affect the development or support of any Activision Blizzard games.

"We have shared plans with our teams in Europe for how we would evolve as an organization, adapting to this change to serve our players and best positioning the region for future growth," Activision Blizzard representatives told gamesindustry.biz in the original report. "We will be taking extensive steps to support all employees and ease the transition for those of our colleagues who might be impacted by these proposed changes."

Today's report comes only a few days after Activision Blizzard laid off 50 workers in their esports division, and reportedly laid off as many as 190 in total company-wide. The company has now laid off well over a thousand workers in the past year.

Inven Global reached out to Activision Blizzard representatives for comment on this matter, as of publication they have not responded to our request.
