FaZe Clan made waves in the Rocket League and gaming community today by interrupting the official broadcast of the Verizon 5G Ultra Cup. FaZe Clan announced the acquisition of the hugely popular and sought-after professional team The Peeps during the live show.

Rocket League now marks the ninth competitive team in the organization's unmatched esports division. FaZe Clan’s new Rocket League team is currently making their debut, playing against Version1. Watch FaZe Clan’s announcement video HERE and head over to the official Rocket League Twitch channel to tune into the Verizon 5G Ultra Cup. FaZe Clan will also compete in their second match at 2:10pm PT today against Spacestation Gaming, which will also be streamed on the Rocket League Twitch channel.

Throughout the past several months, fans of The Peeps and the players themselves started using the hashtag #PickUpThePeeps on social media channels, creating an online frenzy in support of their mission to be picked up by a top esports team. Now fans and professional Rocket League players AyyJayy, Gyro and Allushin along with coach Moopy, can celebrate the team becoming not only being official members of the world’s most prominent esports organization, but also making history as FaZe Clan’s first-ever Rocket League team.

To celebrate FaZe Clan’s new presence in Rocket League, the organization is releasing two limited-edition hoodies paying homage to The Peeps and commemorating the team becoming official members of FaZe Clan. The hoodies, which come in red and blue and feature both FaZe Clan and The Peeps’ logos, are priced at $65 and are available now through Sunday at fazeclan.com

The Peeps were originally created in 2018 and are currently in 5th place in the North American RLCS circuit after placing 4th in the North American RLCS X Winter Major.

“We are so proud of our esports teams dominating in 2021,” said FaZe Clan CEO Lee Trink and Head of Esports Erik Anderson. “We’ve been looking at Rocket League for years now and love what Psyonix has been doing. We hope our fans are just as excited as we are that the day is finally here as we welcome The Peeps to FaZe Clan!”
