Immortals has suffered its 10th loss of the 2021 League of Legends Championship Series Spring Split to TSM and has subsequently been eliminated from post-season qualification. As a result, Evil Geniuses will be the sixth and final team competing in the 2021 LCS Mid-Season Showdown.

Immortals came into its match against TSM looking to start a series of miracles. If IMT beat TSM, and then beat Cloud9 tomorrow while Evil Geniuses lost both of its last matches of the Spring Split, both teams would be tied with records of 9-9. This would result in Immortals qualifying for the LCS Mid-Season Showdown because of the team's 2-0 head-to-head record against EG in the Spring Split.

Unfortunately, IMT was not able to defeat TSM, and with 10 losses, the best the team can finish in the Spring Split is 8-10. EG's worst-case scenario is a 9-9 finish, which would still be more wins and therefore, enough to lock EG in for the post-season.

Evil Geniuses joins Team Liquid, TSM, 100 Thieves, Dignitas, and Cloud9 in post-season qualification, but because of the state of the standings, no specific seeds for the 2021 LCS Mid-Season Showdown have been locked in.

Cloud9 is currently in 1st place at 11-5, only two games ahead of the 6th place, 9-7 Evil Geniuses.

Immortals will join FlyQuest, Counter Logic Gaming, and Golden Guardians in watching the LCS Mid-Season Showdown from the sidelines, but its final match still matters outside of the post-season context because of the format changes to the 2021 LCS.

Because of the combination of spring and summer, every win in the LCS counts, and with the Summer Playoffs continuing to include the top eight teams from the league, Immortals still has plenty to play for against Cloud9 in its final match of spring.
