sinatraa released a very brief statement on Wednesday evening addressing the allegations.
"It is clear from Cleo’s recent post that she recalls our relationship differently than I do. What we do agree on is that it was unhealthy for the both of us," the player said in a statement posted to Twitter. "I apologize to Cleo and regret how things ended, but I never assaulted her in any way. I am fully cooperating with the investigations and providing the full audio and video clips Cleo referenced in her post."
Update 3/11/2021 1:20 PM PT:
The Sentinels announced that Canadian VALORANT player Tyson "TenZ" Ngo will be replacing sinatraa on their roster for the VCT Masters Stage 1.
Original article:
Both the Sentinels and Riot Games suspended VALORANT player Jay "sinatraa" Won on Wednesday, while the organizations conduct separate investigations into allegations of sexual abuse made against the player by his ex-girlfriend Cleo "cle0h" Hernandez.
"We are aware of the current situation regarding Jay “Sinatraa” Won and have launched an investigation internally," the Sentinels said in their Tweet. "While the investigation is pending, he is suspended from the team. We will provide a further update once the investigation has concluded."
Riot announced that they too suspended sinatraa, in accordance with their competitive rules and investigative process.
"We are aware of the current situation regarding Jay Won (Sinatraa) and have launched an investigation," said Riot Global Head of Competition Operations Alex Francois in a statement on the Valesports_NA Twitter account. "Per our existing competitive rules and investigative process, a decision has been made to suspend Won throughout the investigation and therefore he will not be able to compete this weekend [at the VALORANT Champions tour NA."
cle0h released the accusations along with evidence for her claims in a nine-page document that she posted to Twitter on Tuesday. Among other things, cle0h accused sinatraa of sexual assault and emotional abuse. The document she released is extremely graphic, so sensitive readers should be warned before reading the full accusations.
