Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile 2 could release as soon as next week, according to a leak from known PUBG data miner PlayerIGN. According to the information PlayerIGN provided, PUBG Mobile 2 will be set in 2051, will feature an all-new map, and will be available to play on both Android and IOS devices.
The leaked information is based on a translated Sina Weibo post from the PUBG Weibo account. The post was later removed, but not before screenshots were taken and shared.
PlayerIGN is a well-established PUBG leak source. They have built up a following of over 13,000 Twitter followers and an active Discord boasting over 5,000 followers, all on the basis of their useful and accurate leaks about PUBG. While PlayerIGN doesn’t have an entirely flawless leak track record, their PUBG leaks have been quite reliable over the past couple of years, accurately predicting everything from new skins to new balance changes.
If the new rumor is true, the announcement of PUBG Mobile 2 will most likely take place during the PUBG Global Invitational.S (PGI.S). PGI.S is PUBG’s largest esports event of the year and has taken place annually since 2018. This year’s tournament is set to feature 32 teams from eight different regions around the world. If PUBG is going to do a surprise launch of a game, it would make sense to do it at their largest event of the year.
The CEO of the PUBG Corporation already confirmed to Bloomberg in January that a new PUBG mobile title was expected this year, but the company has not yet released any official details about the new title.
As of now, the PUBG Corporation has not publicly commented on the PUBG Mobile 2 leaks.
