Blizzard announced that the Rogue class will be returning to Diablo 4 during the opening ceremonies of Blizzcon 2021.
The Rogue class hasn't been featured in a Diablo game since the release of the original Diablo. Based on the small clips that were shown during the announcement, the Diablo 4 Rogue design looks like it is taking the concept of the original rogue and incorporating some of the abilities of the Demon Hunter from Diablo 3 and the Assassin from Diablo 2.
"The rogue is an incredibly flexible class, capable of adapting to any situation," explained the developers. "Whether it's an unrivaled archer modeled after the original sisterhood, or a cloak and dagger rogue from the darkest alleyways of Caldeum, in diablo 4 you will have the freedom to create the rogue that you imagine, by customizing the look, background, and playstyle of your character."
Very few details were released about the class or its specific abilities during the opening ceremonies, but we can expect to learn more in Diablo 4 sessions throughout Blizzcon.
