Former professional Super Smash Bros player Narioby “Nairo” Quezada has resolved his legal situation and plans to return to streaming soon, according to a video that he posted on his YouTube channel on Friday.

“As many of you know, I have been handling things legally in the last half-year,” Nairo said in the introduction of his video. “I wanted to announce now that we have reached a legal agreement. As of now, everything is fully resolved and I am now able to move forward with my life.”

Nairo went on to express his desire to return to Smash Bros content creation, primarily because he misses spending time with his community.

“I would like to try to stream again,” Nairo explained in his video. “I also know the reality of the situation, that people will probably be hesitant. I don’t know what’s going to happen, or how people will react to this, but I am going to try to move forward.”

It is unclear what platform Nairo will be returning to since he is currently banned from Twitch. He indicated in the video that he has appealed his Twitch ban and said that if he does get unbanned from Twitch he intends to stream there. If Twitch stands by their ban, Nairo will most likely stream on YouTube.

Nairo shunned from Smash community following CaptainZack's grooming allegations

The former Smash pro left the public eye back in July of 2020 after fellow Smash Pro Zach “CaptainZach” Lauth accused Nairo of having an inappropriate sexual relationship with him in 2017, when CaptainZack was still a minor.

After the accusation was made, NRG dropped Nairo and he was banned from Twitch. He also deactivated his Twitter and Instagram accounts at that time.

In October of 2020, Nairo returned to Twitter to release a statement. In the statement, he defended himself from the allegations of sexual misconduct and accused CaptainZack of assaulting him while he was sleeping — and then blackmailing him. Multiple Smash players corroborated Nairo’s account of events at that time, including CLG’s James "VoiD" Makekau-Tyson and Brian "Cosmos" Kalu, though neither player was able to provide specific evidence backing up Nairo's claims.

Since the October statement feelings toward Nairo have been mixed in the Smash community, with some accepting his defense, while others continue to believe CaptainZack’s account of events.
