Day 10 of the 2021 LCK Spring split has come to a conclusion. KT was able to reverse sweep the series against T1 in the matchup that’s historically been dubbed, ‘The Telecom Wars’, while the mid laner for Hanwha Life Esports, Jeong “Chovy’ Ji-hoon, solo carried his team to victory, and took down Gen.G 2-1.

Game 1 of the HLE vs Gen.G match was all about Kim “Rascal” Kwang-hee. During key teamfights, he was able to weave around the enemy lines on Akali. He was able to lock down key members of HLE during objective teamfights, and received Player of the Game (PoG) for his performance.

However, Chovy put on his carry pants in game 2. After collecting a couple of kills in the early game, Chovy’s Yone was able to gain massive advantages, even solo killing multiple times. Through Yone, the other members of HLE were able to scale without hiccups, and with it, they built their lead to tie up the series 1-1.

Chovy’s momentum continued on in game 3, as he switched things up with Akali. Picking up early kills once again, he was able to fully lock down Gwak “Bdd” Bo-seong’s Syndra in lane, while he was able to roam around the map to help out his teammates. Whether it was teamfighting, or assassinating a carry, Gen.G was left at the hands of Chovy’s Akali, and HLE was finally able to put a match loss in Gen.G’s regular split record.

Meanwhile, in the first match of the day, T1 was able to take the comeback victory to lead the series against kt Rolster 1-0. Despite kt Rolster’s early lead, T1 slowly inched ahead of their opponents. While Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon maintained his presence in the game on Gangplank, KT was unable to find their footing. KT was able to buy some time by winning a dragon teamfight, they quickly crumbled in the following teamfight. With it, T1 led the series, 1-0.

In game 2, Son “Ucal” Woo-hyeon’s Yone and Lee “HyBriD” Woo-jin’s Samira were the two main carries of the game. The game was pretty even until the mid game, as Ucal’s key play in a dragon teamfight tipped the scales hard in favor of KT. T1 tried to shift the momentum by forcing a teamfight in the mid lane, but HyBriD’s Samira picked up on the opportunity to clean up and pick up a quadra kill. With it, the series was tied up 1-1.

Game 3 was a bloody duel between the two telecom teams, but in the end, KT came out on top. Both teams did not shy away from skirmishing, and despite HyBriD getting caught out once in the mid lane, he once again cleaned up in a teamfight near the Baron Nashor, which eventually led to the destruction of T1’s Nexus.
