The group stage of the 2021 League of Legends Championship Series Lock In has concluded, and with it, the bracket for the knockout stage has been set. The top four teams from Group A and Group B will move on to the knockout stage, and the last place team in each group has been eliminated. The quarterfinals will feature best-of-three matches, while the semifinals and finals will revert to the best-of-five format most commonly associated with a tournament's knockout stage.

Group stage concludes

100 Thieves took the 1st seed in Group A by tieing Team Liquid's 3-1 record and possessing the win in the head-to-head between the two teams. 100 Thieves will face off against Immortals, who tied for last place in Group B with Dignitas at 1-3, but possessed the win in the head-to-head matchup to secured the 4th seed in the group.

Immortals announced that starting with today's games, IMT Academy would be competing in the tournament in place of the LCS roster. The team had already been starting 3/5 of IMT Academy in the LCS Lock In due to visa issues in its first three games.

Evil Geniuses came out of the gate strong with a 3-0 start to secure the 1st seed in Group B and finished 3-1 overall.  Golden Guardians and Counter Logic Gaming are technically tied for last place in Group A with 1-3 records, but since GG owns the head-to-head victory, the Golden State Warriors affiliate will face off against EG in the quarterfinals.

Team Liquid lost a single match against 100 Thieves, but three wins against CLG, GG, and TSM earned it the 2nd seed in Group A. Team Liquid will be up against FlyQuest, who started out Group B 0-2 but battled back following the arrival of jungler Brandon Joel "Josedeodo" Villegas in week 2 of the group stage. Josedeodo led FlyQuest to victory against Evil Geniuses and stole a key Baron from Immortals to bring FLY to 2-2, good enough for the 3rd seed in Group B.

Cloud9, who finished 3-1 in Group B, had to settle for the 2nd seed as its one loss was against the other 3-1 team in the group Evil Geniuses. Cloud9 will be up against TSM, the latter of whom secured the 3rd seed in Group A with a 2-2 record.

Knockout stage schedule

The LCS Lock In knockout stage will begin on Saturday, January 23rd at 1:00pm PT with 100 Thieves vs. Immortals, which will be followed by Cloud9 vs. TSM. The winners of these two best-of-three quarterfinals matchups will move on to face one another in the best-of-five semifinals.

The matches on the other side of the bracket will begin with Evil Geniuses vs. Golden Guardians on Sunday, January 24th at 1:00pm PT, and the final quarterfinals matchup will be between Team Liquid and FlyQuest. The winners will move on to the other side of the semifinals bracket.
