In the second game between DRX and Nongshim RedForce of the 2021 LCK Spring Split, a champion that hasn't been on the rift for almost five years appeared as DRX jungler Hong “Pyosik” Chang-hyeon locked in Udyr as the team’s fourth pick. Pyosik had been playing Udyr often in solo queue — a total of 21 times with a KDA of 3.99 and a win rate of 52%.

It was Udyr’s first appearance in 1,799 days. The last appearance was on Feb. 18, 2016, picked by SK Telecom T1’s Bae “Bengi” Seong-woong. Bengi had played Udyr twice and lost both games. Since then, in LCK's entire history, Udyr has been picked 14 times overall and holds a 50% record at 7-7.

Pyosik's Udyr pick turned out to be a great choice as the  DRX jungler was able to run around everywhere on the Rift. By winning the game, Udyr earned his 8th win in LCK history. The last win for Udyr was thanks to Im “Tom” Jae-hyeon back in Mar. 20, 2015 — 2,134 days ago. Pyosik not just won DRX the game but was also voted as the Player of the Game with a 2/0/16 record.

Pyosik’s rune selection was Phase Rush, Nimbus Cloak, Celerity, Waterwalking with Triumph, and Legend: Alacrity, and focused on movement speed. However, according to LCK analyst Ha “Bitdol” Gwang-seok, Udyr could pick from approximately 48 rune combinations, so this may not always be the "correct" build.
