Juked.gg, the online epicenter of esports where fans can watch the latest broadcasts and follow the most relevant industry news, today announced the closing of its crowd equity fundraising campaign using Republic, the private investing platform. The campaign raised $1,070,000 which is the maximum amount available via Regulation Crowdfunding (“Reg CF”) in less than four months, making it one of the fastest growing campaigns on Republic.

It also brought together more than 2500 individual investors which is indicative of the strong interest in Juked’s core mission to create a new home page for esports. Investors included esports influencers, Juked fans, forward-thinking retail investors, and the broader gaming community with a lot of their feedback shared on Republic’s investment page.

“Allowing the community to own a piece of Juked and contribute to our success is our way of doubling down on an audience who understands where esports is heading,” said Ben Goldhaber, co-founder and CEO of Juked.

“Since our goal is to support the continued growth of esports fandom and culture, enabling fans to be our direct backers is a win-win situation. We're incredibly excited to work with our new investors to bring our vision with Juked to fruition.”

Funds from this campaign will be used to grow Juked’s staff in order to accelerate the development of the company's web product, apps, and original content offering. This includes hiring for both engineering and content-related roles in order to roll out a variety of new social and gamification features, mobile apps on iOS and Android, and produce esports related shows, podcasts, and written content. Juked currently has six full time employees working remotely across the US.

In aggregate, Juked has now raised a total of $2.1 million in funding between crowd equity and from a syndicate of prominent esports, gaming, and tech investors, including 500 Startups, Mike Morhaime and Amy Morhaime (the Former CEO and Former VP of Esports of Blizzard Entertainment), Stewart Alsop (the lead investor in Twitch’s Series A), and Mike Lee and Albert Lee (co-founders of MyFitnessPal), among others.
