Chapter 13: Cause and Effect is one of the latest story mode chapters released by Line Games and has one of the better rewards for completion. Not to provide early spoilers, but this is definitely a chapter worth completing early if you are new to the game and are progressing through the story with ease.

 

As the story still takes place in the nation of Brunn, the enemies are essentially the same as in Chapter 12 but with a noticeable increase in base stats. So if you found Chapter 12 to be fairly difficult, then you may find Chapter 13 to be a much bigger challenge. That said, I highly recommend having 1 or 2 awakened heroes here as you will need the stat increase provided by awakening. In addition, having elemental enhanced nature, machine, and light heroes will make the battles much more manageable.

 

Breaking enemy units as soon as possible should be the primary objective for every battle as enemies will take more damage and you will take less. As with the Chapter 12 guide, I will not be spilling any details on the actual story, so you do not have to worry about any spoilers here. That said, completing the Chapter has some great free to play rewards, let's first look at the free rewards you can receive.

Xes reward for total star completions

 

 

To all the completists out there, completing each episode’s mission for 3 stars will reward you with a total of 700 free Xes. Each episode has different requirements for a 3 star completion, but it’s not required to complete the stage. If you have difficulty completing an episode, I recommend just completing the stage then coming back when you make more progress on your account. Here are the breakdown of Xes rewards based on stars obtained:

 

  1. Reward for 7 Stars — 100 Xes
  2. Rewards for 18 Stars — 250 Xes
  3. Rewards for 36 Stars — 350 Xes

 

Challenge mission rewards from completing Chapter 13

 

 

In addition to receiving free Xes from how many stars you obtained, you will also get free Xes from the corresponding Challenge Mission for each episode you complete. Challenge missions only require you to complete the stage and nothing else, so it’s the easiest way to get free Xes in this game. Although small, free Xes is always a win for all players. The action in Chapter 13 starts in the second episode after a cut scene involving Jinai, Schmid, and the newly Awakened Zeon. Similar to previous chapters in the story, the format is the same and you will face three rounds of enemy waves. As expected, the minimum CP requirement here has increased from the last episode of Chapter 12. This episode still consists of enemies with nature, machine, and light guard stones similar to Chapter 12. However, there is no Schmid available like in Chapter 12, so bring a light element hero for light damage.

 

The stats of the enemies have noticeably increased as well, which makes it easier to reach the break goal for mission completion. If your heroes are much higher than the CP requirement, I recommend manually attacking enemies with normal attacks to reach the break goal and ultimately earn 3-stars. If not, this episode should be an easy clear if your CP is high enough and you bring the corresponding elements for breaks. 

 

Episode 3 — Inevitable Evil Destiny

This stage is fairly straightforward, no real new mechanics or enemies introduced here. Bring a team composed of nature, machine, and light elements and manually target the enemies to achieve the 6 breaks required for 3-star mission completion.

This episode is a boss fight against Kylock. Similar to Chapter 12, Kylock has an increased attack buff and has a total of 10 guard stones; note the guard stone order above if you are looking to complete all the episode’s missions. In addition, the normal enemies also become stronger here as you may notice the increase in overall stats. I recommend manually targeting enemies and using normal attacks the first two waves. This allows you to build mana and achieve the 8 breaks for one of the mission goals.

 

Kylock is very easy to beat if you manage to break him, but I would focus on killing the enemies around him first so that you can focus only on Kylock once you break him. After beating this stage a limited Hot Deal will be available offering a fated ranked accessory and God abrasives for 3000 crystals. I would not recommend this for low spenders or those who are f2p. But if you don’t mind spending in-game then this may help your progression.

 

Completing Chapter 5 will unlock a Hot Deal for a fated ranked accessory ticket and abrasives for 3000 crystals.

Episode 6 — Implied Rebellion I

This is the first of three similar episodes in which the base stats of all the enemies remain the same. Nothing difficult here, this should be an easy clear if you meet the minimum CP and bring a team of elements matching the enemy guard stones (nature, machine, light). Similar to previous episodes, if you are dealing too much damage with active skills I recommend using manual mode with normal attacks to land the 7 breaks for the mission goal. 

 

Episode 7 — Implied Rebellion II

This essentially the same as Episode 7 the only difference is the enemy waves differ. Base stats remain the same, enemy guard stones remain the same, and mission goals are the same as well. You should be able to clear this stage with the same team you used for Episode 7. The only difference is that you will obtain a legendary ranked accessory which is useful as they are rare. If you do not have any Awakened heroes at this point I highly recommend investing time into Awakening. 

 

Episode 8 — Implied Rebellion III

This episode is another easy three waves following the same standard as the previous three episodes. Base stats have not increased and enemy guard stones remain the same; nature, machine, light. Again, meeting the minimum CP and bringing in elements that match the enemy guard stones will make this much easier. The mission goal for 3-stars is easy if you utilize normal attacks to break 7 times. You do receive a legendary ranked accessory for magic type users for completing this episode, so that should help those of you with Awakened heroes. 

 

Episode 10 — The Trial

This is the second milestone stage where the enemies become more difficult as their base stats increase. Although not significantly higher than previous episodes, you should still take note of their increased attack/defense stats if you are using heroes like Jinai or Rachel who’s marks depend on the enemy stats. There are no new enemies here, same waves as all other episodes, with nature/machine/light guard stones. Notice the requirement for a support type hero as one of the mission goals. Aside from that, no new game-changing mechanics here that would make this difficult to clear if you meet the minimum CP. 

Episode 11 — Priority

The main reward for completing Episode 11 is the new fated Awakened Zeon! 

 

This is the final playable stage in Chapter 13 and also the most difficult. The enemy waves do receive another stat increase, so they are more difficult to defeat. In addition, the last wave of this episode is a boss battle against the fated hero Dorka.

 

Dorka has fairly high attack and defense, so she will hit hard if you do not have any awakened heroes or are lacking in the fated armor. I highly recommend that you attempt this battle with an elemental enhanced nature hero so that you can break her much easier. Dorka has a total of 10 guard stones, similar to other boss fights in previous chapters. Note the order of elements above to help you decide how to assemble your team in this battle. Similar to other boss battles, defeat the additional enemies first so you can focus on dealing max damage to Dorka once you break her. It may help to break Dorka early, then take out the adds so you aren’t taking too much damage from her AOE bleed skill.

 

That said, the struggle to defeat Dorka will be worth it as you will receive the fated Awakened Zeon for free here. He is a great addition to any team, especially those who are free to play. Lastly, you will receive a Hot Deal after completing this stage as well; it’s the same as before offering a fated ranked accessory and god abrasives for 3000 crystals. Again, not recommended for low spenders but there is no harm in investing in this deal if you are looking for quick stat and CP gains. 

 

After completing Episode 11, the second Hot Deal of Chapter 12 becomes available. This is another fated rank 1 accessory ticket with god’s common abrasives. 

Episode 12 — Civil War

This is a story only episode.
