Smeb retires from professional play

Smeb has retired. On the 17th, Song “Smeb” Kyung-ho announced his retirement through social media. He said that he’ll be ending his pro gaming career which he played from 2013 and opening a new chapter in his life as a streamer.

 

Smeb debuted as the top laner of Incredible Miracle in 2013. After joining ROX Tigers in 2015, Smeb reached the peak of his career, finishing in 2nd place at the World Championship. In the next year, he won his first LCK championship as well. From 2017, Smeb joined kt Rolster and played through the end of his career.

 

In his message to the fans, Smeb said, “During my 8 years as a professional gamer, there have been highs and lows, but standing at the moment of making a retirement decision, only the highs remain in my memory,” and mentioned that his life as a professional gamer was full of happiness.

 

He closed up his message by thanking everyone. “All my friends, colleagues, team staffs, the media, and all eSport people including the Riot Games, I am truly thankful for you all. And last but not the least, all the fans out there that cheered for the professional gamer SMAB, you guys are the best and I am really happy that you all were there for me.”

 

Earlier this month, his teammates from ROX Tigers, Lee "Kuro" Seo-haeng and Kang "GorillA" Beom-hyeon had retired.
