The anticipated Super Nintendo Land has concluded its construction and is set to open at the Universal Studios Japan on February 4th, 2021, in Osaka. Previously, Nintendo had its inaugural season to happen during Spring 2021.
With an investment of $580 Million behind its zone, the attractions include a Mario Kart themed ride, in which attendees will get a unique experience racing against each other, incorporating a gamified model in which racers will indeed be able to gather items from power-up boxes and cause mayhem throwing banana peels at each other.
On the 28th of November, Japan had registered its highest number of new COVID-19 infections, with an increase in the number of people with severe symptoms, raising concerns about the safety of the attendees. According to Universal Studios Japan’s website, park admission is limited to half, to properly allow social distancing, being open to all studio passholders.
It is uncertain if Universal Studios will be bringing the Super Nintendo Land to other parks across the globe, but it is safe to say that once the global pandemic is over, the Japan park is worth a visit, especially since they are already supposedly building a Donkey Kong zone according to Bloomberg.
