On Nov. 30, Afreeca Freecs announced that they’ve signed player contracts with the bot laner Bae “Bang” Jun-sik and support Son “Lehends” Si-woo.

Bang is a bot laner with an incredible legacy. Once part of the legendary SKT T1 line-up, he has multiple LCK championships under his belt, as well as back-to-back world championships. His latest tenure was with Evil Geniuses in the LCS, but he was unable to qualify for this year’s Worlds. Bang joining AF means that he will be returning to the LCK for the first time in two years after he left to join 100 Thieves in 2018.

Lehends first joined the LCK as a support player for Griffin in 2017 and was part of a storied roster that also consisted players like Jeong “Chovy'' Ji-hoon and head coach Kim “cvMax '' Dae-ho. He joined Hanwha Life Esports for the 2020 season as the starting support player for the team but left after just one year with the team.

On joining the team, Bang commented:

“I really wanted to come back to the LCK, and grow as a player through competing with the best of the best. I wish to continue improving with the mind of a challenger, and will give it my all in becoming a player that exceeds the fans’ expectations.”

Lehends also commented:

“I’m really happy to be joining Afreeca Freecs and its talented player roster. I’ll make sure to do my best to exceed the fans’ expectations.”
