Riot Games released League of Legends Patch 10.24 a tad early due to the Thanksgiving holiday this week, so let's waste no time in diving into the first official patch released since the debut of the preseason.

Champions

Patch 10.24 will bring nerfs to four League of Legends champions. Samira has been a terror since her release just before the start of the pre-season, and subsequently, the Desert Roses' all-in potential has been toned down due to her access to many lifesteal and crit items. Amumu has benefitted heavily from the item changes in the jungle, and the damage over time on his Despair is being toned down to keep the Sad Mummy in check.

Hecarim has always been a champion that pushes the envelope on viable mobility balance, and the new items have given him a little too much power to go with his speed. Hecarim's passive, Warpath, which gives him bonus attack damage based on his bonus movement speed, has been nerfed alongside the damage on his Devastating Charge. Lastly, Kayle's attack speed scaling on her passive, Divine Ascent, has been cut in half.

Tryndamere is one of the two champions receiving buffs on 10.24 to compensate for crit changes when compared to last-season. Varus has received changes to all four of his abilities in an effort to make his kit more unique after two years of the Arrow of Retribution becoming a pro ADC swiss army knife. Yasuo and Yone aren't being nerfed or buffed, but are receiving slight adjustments to their passives to account for a previously exploitable interaction with Guinsoo's Rageblade.

Items

DoT-centric mages like Malzahar have had a field day with the 1-2 item punch of Liandry's Anguish and Demonic Embrace, and both items have been toned down as a result. Liandry's Anguish isn't the only Mythic item to be nerfed, either — Eclipse has also received an increase in time to its cooldown, and Riftmaker's void corruption damage has been reduced.

Burst damage has been amplified in pre-season and many items that have contributed to that trend are being nerfed to balance things out. Luden's Tempest, Hextech Rocketbelt, and Night Harvester are all fantastic high-burst Mythic items that have dominated pre-season thus far, and alongside them, Lich Bane has been nerfed after becoming the de-facto second item choice for magic damage threats. Blade of the Ruined King and Nashor's Tooth have also been nerfed.

All of these nerfs doesn't mean that every pre-season item has been cracked, however. Plenty of items are receiving buffs: Prowler's Claw, Moonstone Renewer and Kraken Slayer have been brought in line with the other Mythic items, and the latter has had a bug fixed on its interaction with Guinsoo's Rageblade. Four legendary items —  Cosmic Drive, Essence Reaver, Phantom Dancer, and Serpent's Fang — have also been buffed to increase their viability.

A few adjustments have also been administered to items on Patch 10.24. Tear of the Goddess has received some statistical changes in its entire line following a transition to becoming a starting item in the new season, and jungle items are having their omnivamp toned down from 12% to 10%. However, omnivamp will remain at 12% only when the jungler is taking area of effect damage.

Skins

In addition to various quality of life fixes applied in and out of game, new skins in the Cosmic line of the Event Horizon skin set are hitting Summoner's Rift in Patch 10.24 for Anivia, Hecarim, Illaoi, Nami, Nidalee, Skarner, Varus, and Vladimir. In addition, Lissandra will be receiving a Dark Cosmic skin, and Star Guardian Soraka will get its own Prestige Edition.
