With a "99%" certainty, top laner Gabriel "Bwipo" Rau will re-sign with Fnatic for yet another year, the player told Inven Global in a recent interview.
"It's pretty much confirmed. Something very, very strange would have to happen for me not to be playing on Fnatic this [2021] year. That I can guarantee, almost, to 99%," Bwipo said.
This would be the fourth year that Bwipo will be playing for Fnatic, after joining the LEC powerhouse in 2018. With Fnatic, Bwipo won two LEC titles, played in the finals of three more LEC seasons, reached top 4 at MSI 2018, and achieved a personal best — a second-place finish at Worlds 2018.
Bwipo's contract, alongside that of mid laner Tim "Nemesis" Lipovsek were extended in January till 2021, and while the Belgian is looking to stay with the storied org, Nemesis is reportedly being replaced by Cloud9's Yasin "Nisqy" Dincer. If other reports prove true, Bwipo will also be led by a different coach in 2021, as Jakob "YamatoCannon" Mebdi is reportedly to join Fnatic as head coach, replacing Alfonso "Mithy" Aguirre Rodríguez.
The official start of the 2021 preseason is Monday, Nov. 16, which will open the flood doors to one of the most exciting times for professional League of Legends. A lot of big roster moves have already been confirmed or reported, and the shuffle season is only going to become more active in the coming days.
