T1 announced that they have signed the coaches of the World Champions, DAMWON Gaming, Lee “Zefa” Jae-min and Yang “Daeny” Dae-in. The roles of the two coaches have changed for T1, as Daeny will be serving as head coach and Zefa as a regular coach. The reason for the change was that Zefa prefers the position of a regular coach.

In the process of signing Daeny to the team, it is said that Daeny requested to move with Zefa. As Zefa also preferred to be a coach rather than the head coach, the two will work together again. Daeny is known to have led DAMWON Gaming with great leadership. Although he’s a former PUBG coach, Daeny’s game knowledge and diligence were beyond expectations. T1 emphasized that Daeny will have all authority in running the team from player selection to strategy.

On joining the team, Daeny said, “In a new environment in T1, in a new position as the head coach, I’m happy to take the challenge of reconstructing the dynasty. I’d like to thank DAMWON who respected my choice, and as much as there are high expectations from the team and the fans, I’ll lead the team well to get better results.”

Zefa said, “I’m happy to return to T1. DAMWON Gaming also gave me a good offer, but I wanted more to reconstruct the T1 dynasty with Daeny. I’ll do my best to give winning games to the fans.”

Choi “Polt” Seong-hun, who was rumored to be signed to T1 in the first place, will also be serving in the team. He will be working as the general manager. However, T1 did not announce anything about Nick “LS” De Cesare, who was likely to head to T1. It is said that he may serve as an analyst for the team, or may not be in T1 at all.

The head coach for T1’s academy team will be Bae “Bengi” Seong-woong. Bengi has three world championships alongside Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and has experience as a coach after retirement. He had been taking a break after his military service.

Along with the announcement, Polt shared a message.
