With the departure of Afreeca Freecs’ head coach, Choi “iloveoov” Yeon-seong being announced on the 3rd (KST), they’ve also announced the departure of their coaches, Chae “viNylCat” Woo-cheol and Yeon “ActScene” Hyeong-mo.

Both viNylCat and ActScene are staple names in the LCK. As former players themselves, viNylCat joined Afreeca Freecs in 2018, with ActScene joining the team in 2019. In the beginning of the 2020 season, after they defeated SANDBOX Gaming to become KeSPA Cup champions, they had many fans hoping for a potential Worlds appearance. However, they finished in 6th place during the 2020 LCK Spring split, while finishing 5th in the Summer, ultimately failing to make it to Worlds 2020.

On the departure, Afreeca Freecs commented via Twitter, “Today, we part ways with viNylCat and Actscene. We’d like to thank them for their contribution, and ask for your support on their way to their future.” With Afreeca Freecs’ entire coaching staff parting ways with the organization, it’ll be curious to see who’ll be taking over in the 2021 season.
