Reveal season has begun in the world of Blizzard Entertainments's digital card game, Hearthstone, for their upcoming card expansion titled Madness at the Darkmoon Faire. On Tuesday afternoon, the game's development team unveiled the first two cards that are coming to the set outside of what was shown at the reveal stream two weeks ago. And, surprisingly enough, they're Hunter cards and they both really, really want to go face.
In a video shared on the game's official Twitter account, Blizzard teamed up with Brian Calland of Wronchi Animation yet again to display the cards in a fun and creative manner.
The first card, Darkmoon Tonk, does what you'd imagine a Tonk would do: Shoot missiles. While the days of a Deathrattle Hunter archetype sitting at the top of the metagame are a distant memory, perhaps this Tonk can play a role in its' revitalization (depending on what other support cards are revealed, if any).
The first Legendary Hunter card of the expansion is Maxima Blastenheimer whose name is fitting given her card text. When played, she takes a minion from your deck, blasts it at the enemy's face, then it dies. An important distinction with this card is that a minion is summoned from your deck, not a copy of a minion. Once Maxima launches King Krush at the opponent, there is no longer a King Krush in the deck going forward. In a world where Face Hunter is popular, one assumes that Maxima would play a role in its' success as, in addition to instant damage, a deathrattle ability can be proct as well.
The full list of cards revealed for the set thus far can be found here. Madness at the Darkmoon Faire launches on November 17.
