Marc Robert "Caedrel" Lamont has announced to be stepping back from League of Legends professional play. Earlier today, Excel Esports released a statement thanking their now former Jungler for the two years in the organization.
Since Excel has failed to qualify for the 2020 LEC Summer Split Playoffs, the player turned into talent. Caedrel has explored League of Legends shoutcasting, as well as being part of the broadcast team as an analyst.
“Over the last couple of months, I realized I felt a lot of happiness in my life. I think casting and being on the [analyst] desk and meeting all these great people behind the scenes has been so much fun for me. It’s almost like a spark in my life. I think right now it is a good time for me to step away from being a pro player, although it’s been something I loved so much as a kid”, said Lamont with an emotional undertone.
Caedrel has played League of Legends professionally since 2015, and has spent the past two seasons as the Jungler for Excel Esports, in the LEC. The former Excel Jungler mentioned he would still be carrying on to play solo queue, to improve as much as possible as a player, and remain in the competitive environment.
