HyFresh Blade announced that Choi “Edgar” Woo-beom will be joining the team as the head coach for the team.

Edgar is a head coach with a hefty career under his belt. As a former Starcraft pro player himself, his journey started in LoL Esports in 2013, where he led his team to win Worlds w/ Samsung as the coach for his team in 2014. He then became the head coach for Samsung/Gen.G from 2015 to 2020 Spring, where the team finished 2nd in Worlds 2016 and became champions once again in 2017.

As HyFresh Blade is one of the teams that were accepted into the LCK franchising model in 2021, they’ve kicked off their rebuilding of their team by respectively bringing in Edgar and Lee “David” Seung-hoo as head coach and coach for the team, while Choi “BanBazi” Myeong-won and Kim “Kite” Yong-yeon, who were the coaching staff that led the team in 2020 Challengers Korea, have been respectively named as head coach and coach for their academy roster.

Edgar commented, “I’m thrilled to start anew with Brion Esports (HyFresh Blade) I’ll make sure to create a great team in the little time I have left, and make sure to put on a great performance for the fans.”

The General Manager for Brion Esports, Park “Reach” Jung-suk commented, “At Brion, we needed a head coach who’s not only passionate, but also focuses heavily on building character and has a great eye in finding prospects through his leadership. We’ll put complete trust on Edgar’s leadership and provide as much support as he needs.”
