According to a report by Travis Gafford, Team Liquid has reached an agreement with mid laner Nicolaj "Jensen" Jensen. Jensen, who joined TL before the start of the 2019 League of Legends Championship Series Spring Split, has reportedly re-signed with his current squad for three years to the tune of a cool $4.2 million.

Gafford's report comes shortly after a report by ESPN Esports' Jacob Wolf that stated Team Liquid was willing to sign Barney "Alphari" Morris, who played with Origen during the 2020 League of Legends European Championship, per Jensen's desires. Wolf's report mentions that Alphari's contract with TL will be a multi-year deal valued at over $1 million per year.

Wolf also states that this is slightly more than the contract value of current TL top laner Jeong "Impact" Eon-Young, who signed with TL prior to the start of the 2018 season for reportedly slightly over $1 million per year. By Wolf's report, Alphari's deal would be slightly more expensive.

If Gafford's report is accurate, Jensen's new deal with Team Liquid absolutely dwarf any previous LCS salary, but between the seemingly bottomless money pit that is TL's budget and Jensen's stock continuing to increase in a free agent mid laner market that does not include Søren "Bjergsen" Bjerg, it wouldn't be shocking to see Jensen command this type of contract after two full seasons of elite play for the organization.

Jensen and Bjergsen have battled over rights to the claim of best mid laner in North America for years, but with Bjergsen retiring, Jensen is definitively the best mid laner in the region. If TL has truly locked Jensen up, expect a confirmation on Alphari's deal and other roster moves in the near future.
