Jungler Xiong "Xx" Yu-Long has officially departed from LNG Esports after amicable negotiations, the team confirmed Tuesday via Weibo. This ends Xx's one-year-long stint with the org, after transferring from Top Esports in December 2019.
Xx's free agency reinforces the likeliness of recent reports that LNG Esports are eyeballing former Griffin jungler Lee "Tarzan" Seung-yong for the starting roster. Since parting ways with Griffin in May, Tarzan has also been a free agent and recently announced that he is planning to compete in the LPL.
Xx helped TES to several high finishes in the LPL, including 4th place in 2019 Spring Playoffs, 3rd in 2019 Summer Playoffs, and 2nd in Demacia Cup 2018. His time with LNG, however, has been less fruitful, as the org struggled in the 2020 season, finishing last in Spring and 13th in Summer, as well as seeing an early exit from Demacia Cup 2019.
As a team-mate, Xx has also been involved in several controversies. In March 2018, Top Esports suspended him for the remainder of the Spring Split, after he was seeing laughing on camera while his team was losing a regular season match against Suning. In July this year, Xx was also fined 50,000 CNY (approx. $7,400) for a "verbal conflict" between him and Invictus Gaming coach Siu "Chris" Keung.
