6,312 fans will be allowed to attend the 2020 League of Legends World Championship grand finals live at Pudong Stadium on Oct. 31, Riot China confirmed Saturday through their social media. The company made it clear that health and safety are top priority and to fulfill these prevention measures, they will require ID, authenticated draws, clarification of qualification, and face certification to select the spectators.
“Many esports fans want to cheer for the teams and players they like,” Riot China said. “So after months of discussion, evaluating the current pandemic prevention conditions, and consulting each division, we will be opening the stadium on Oct. 31 for the finals while having health and safety as top priority.”
The finals tickets will not be up for sale and will be distributed through a draw. Applicants can try their luck through LPL.QQ.COM, the Chinese League of Legends client on PC, apply via the League of Legends app, or follow LPL League on WeChat on mobile. Foreign fans can also apply but there will be a 14-day quarantine period, so there may be difficulties in attending the finals.
There won’t be an actual paper ticket nor an e-ticket. Entrance will be only allowed through ID. The tickets may not be transferred or sold to other people. If there are health issues during the check-up at the scene, they will not be allowed to enter.
