On September 8, DAMWON Gaming announced that Jang “Nuguri” Ha-gwon had received pneumothorax surgery. According to DWG’s official Twitter post, Nugury suffered from chest pain and shortness of breath. He was immediately taken to the hospital shortly after and was diagnosed with pneumothorax, so he received a lung resection.

DAMWON Gaming commented:

“Thankfully, the surgery was a success, and he’s expected to be discharged on September 13. While the team is flying out to China on September 11, Nuguri will be flying out on September 18 in order to ensure the stability of his health. We’re very sorry for causing such concern to all the fans, and we will continue to monitor his health and work hard in providing the most optimal environment for our players.”

Coming out of their win against DRX in the 2020 LCK Summer finals, Nuguri was named the Finals MVP for his performance. As the 2020 LoL World Championships draws near, many fans are hoping for Nuguri's speedy recovery.
