After winning convincingly in the first game, TSM lost the next two games against Team Liquid to put TL at match point. But they turned it around in game four and five with a pocket Shen Jungle pick from Mingyi "Spica" Lu and took the victory in the League Challenger Series semifinals in yet another Silver Scrapes series. With this win, TSM advances to the Finals against FlyQuest for their shot at yet another NA Title for the org, and what would be their first for since their dominance a few years ago.

The TSM vs Team Liquid matchup is particularly special because of the history between the players and orgs. Not only do CEOs and founders, Steve Arhancet and Andy Dinh, have their own rivalry, but star AD Carry, Yiliang "Peter" "Doublelift" Peng recently left Liquid, returning to TSM, his former team. Despite Doublelift's seniority over his replacement on Liquid, Edward "Tactical" Ra, TL outperformed TSM in both of their regular-season matchups. Doublelift and TSM get their revenge and advance to the NA Finals and secure a spot in the Worlds Group stage.
