The playoffs match between Gen.G and Afreeca Freecs in the 2020 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) Summer Split was completely dominated by Gen.G. From the beginning to the end, Gen.G demolished Afreeca Freecs.
From level 1 in game 1, Gen.G put on a big smile. They collected two kills by countering Afreeca Freecs' invade. Another attempt from the Afreeca Freecs' bot lane was prevented by Kim "Clid" Tae-min's Volibear. In the meanwhile, Gwak "Bdd" Bo-seong's Akali solo killed the opponent Mordekaiser twice. Through the priority gained in the early game, Gen.G started to destroy their opponents. Afreeca Freecs cut off some of the champions that had bounties to catch up, but by this time, Park "Ruler" Jae-hyuk's Kai'Sa was unstoppable. After Kai'Sa assassinated Ashe, Gen.G marched in to end the game.
Game 2 was a worse nightmare for Afreeca Freecs. Song "Fly" Yong-jun's Orianna was caught during the invade phase and they had another bad start. As Orianna didn't have Flash, she fell again to a gank. Clid's Graves collected two kills and Lee "Spirit" Da-yoon's Nidalee had to run whenever she encountered with Graves. In 10 minutes, the kill score was 9-0 and the gold difference was at 4K. Nearly every situation that happened afterward went in Gen.G's favor. They destroyed Afreeca Freecs' Nexus before the 24-minute mark to take a 2-0 lead.
Afreeca Freecs again attempted to invade at level 1, but they got spotted by a ward, and Gen.G again took first blood. Still, the game was in an alright situation for Afreeca Freecs. When the top, jungle, and mid gathered at the Rift Herald for a fight, Kim "Rascal" Kwang-hee's Sett acted fast to get in the middle of everything first. Gen.G took Shelly as well as winning the fight. Gen.G took more benefits as they planned a dive in bot lane, but Afreeca Freecs struck back right away in their own dive. As Gen.G was still ahead in most of the aspects of the game, they took all of the objectives. In a big fight at the second turret in top lane, Gen.G had a massive win, which led to Baron. There were small jabs that Afreeca Freecs threw, but they were too minor to affect the outcome of the game. With a clean 3-0 sweep, Gen.G succeeded to go to the next round of the playoffs to face DRX.
