On the 7th (KST), in the 2020 League of Legends Champions Korea Summer Split, Afreeca Freecs faced Team Dynamics and kt Rolster played Hanwha Life Esports. The two playoffs contenders, Afreeca Freecs and kt Rolster won with a 2-1 score and kept their hopes up for the postseason.
Afreeca Freecs won game 1 after a long match. While the two teams had many teamfights, Kim “Kiin” Gi-in’s Akali and Jin “Mystic” Seong-jun’s Ashe had outstanding performances. Through the two players’ performance, the game tilted towards Afreeca Freecs’ way and they were able to take the win for the first game.
Team Dynamics hit back in game 2. When Lee “Rich” Jae-won’s Kennen started to apply variables, Team Dynamics inched back into the game. In the late game, the two teams gave and took blows, but it was Team Dynamics who were able to keep their concentration. They made fewer mistakes than their counterpart and tied the game.
Afreeca Freecs tried to make skirmishes between the junglers. Through the skirmishes, Song “Fly” Yong-jun and Mystic were able to scale well and Afreeca Freecs was able to move ahead. Team Dynamics took more dragons to stay in the game, but the difference between the two teams was visible in every fight. Afreeca Freecs destroyed Team Dynamics’ Nexus and remained undefeated against the “eastern” teams.
Hanwha Life Esports started their match against kt Rolster with a win. Jeong “Mireu” Jo-bin’s Sylas utilized his Teleport well to mess up what kt Rolster was drawing. Through an early advantage, Hanwha Life Esports played the macro game well for the win. Mireu was voted as the player of the game for the first time in his career.
Again, kt Rolster gave Kim “Malrang” Geun-seong Graves, with Ignite. Malrang succeeded to score by ganking bot lane and collected objectives when necessary. Through his performance, the game tilted towards kt Rolster’s side. After collecting the dragon soul, kt Rolster concluded the game well. Park “TusiN” Jong-ik’s Bard was voted as player of the game.
The final winner was kt Rolster. Game 3 was very fierce. Kim “Aiming” Ha-ram’s Jhin was the ace that closed the game. Even when the game was getting long, he recorded only one death and Hanwha Life Esports wasn’t able to deal with his massive damage. Through this win, kt Rolster kept their hopes up for playoffs.
