Tyler "Ninja" Blevins is back streaming on Twitch — at least for now. At the time of writing, Ninja's stream is pulling a viewership of over 62K. He started with a Fortnite stream together with Benjamin "DrLupo" Lupo, getting close to 95K viewers, but the interest dropped a bit after Ninja switched to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
Like his stream with YouTube in July, Ninja's appearance on Twitch was unprompted and is not connected with an exclusive deal. Reportedly, the popular streamer is still negotiating between the two platforms and there's no guessing yet where he might land, or whether there will even be an exclusive deal in place.
In comparison, Ninja's YouTube stream peaked over 167,000 viewers, much higher than his Twitch appearance today. Given Twitch has been the leading platform in streaming basically since its inception, this could potentially give Ninja more bargaining power when negotiating with the Amazon-owned platform.
During the stream, Ninja explained that the relationship between him and the streaming platforms is "complicated" and he's allowed to "see other people". Without a doubt, however, whichever service locks in the #1 game streamer in the world will earn a massive advantage in the modern streaming war.
