On the 2nd (KST), T1 took on SANDBOX Gaming on day 33 of the 2020 LCK Summer split. T1 took a landslide 2:0 victory against SB and earned their 9th victory of the split. The much anticipated mid laner for T1, Clozer, started for the team once again. He was a key part in leading his team to victory, as he even managed to solo kill his lane opponent in game 2.

After the match, the 17-year old mid laner for T1, Clozer, joined Inven Global for an exclusive one on one interview.

You took another match victory today against SB. How do you feel?

Before my debut match against KT, I didn’t think I’d win this many games. In terms of set victories, I'm now at four consecutive victories, so that definitely feels amazing. If I do get to start for the team in the next match, I want to perform a lot better than today.

In game 1, SB pulled out Sona-Lux in the bot lane, which is gaining a lot of traction in the West. What are your thoughts on it? How do you rate SB’s composition in game 1?

After we saw their comp, we told ourselves that we’re going to win in the late game, so let’s not die and do what we need to do. I personally think it still needs to be experimented around a lot.

You played Zoe in both game 1 and 2. How come?

Not only am I very comfortable on Zoe, she’s a champion that’s fits well in the current meta.

There have been countless montages of your solo queue adventures on Youtube. Do you watch your own montages?

Yes, I watch them to see how I play and learn from them (laughter).

In those montages, there are champions that fit well in the competitive meta, but there are also those that do not, such as Katarina and Irelia. If you could choose one non-meta champion to play in a competitive match, who would it be, and why?

It would have to be Irelia. I’m confident with every champion in my champion pool, but I’m the most confident on her. I think I can beat anyone with Irelia.

Then, would you say she’s your signature champion?

Definitely.

You’re the player that’s filling in the shoes of the legendary mid laner, Faker. Do you feel pressured by it? What kind of mindset are you going into with every match that you play?

I play with the mindset of not setting the team behind, and that I need to do the things I need to do for the team. While I am ambitious about being the carry of the team, I at least don’t want to be the reason why the team loses.

As a pro gamer, what is your end goal?

It would definitely be winning Worlds. I want to play against Rookie on Invictus Gaming. The general consensus is that he’s very good during the laning phase, so I want to see where I stand against him.

T1’s next opponent is SeolHaeOne Prince. What are some of the distinct characteristics that the team needs to look out for?

SP is a team that plays many different unique champions, so just like how SANDBOX played Sona-Lux, we need to be careful of their unpredictable draft.

Lastly, a word to your fans.

One way or another, I think I performed quite well in the last two matches. I have many other champions that I’m ready to play, so please continue to support me and the team.

Also, can you say a few words to Faker, who probably was watching you win with a big smile on his face?

I still have a very long journey ahead of me if I want to reach your status. You’re someone that I learn so much from, and I consider you to be a very important person in my life. Thanks, hyung (older brother).
