On the 1st (KST), Day 32 of the 2020 LCK Summer split came to a conclusion. Gen.G and DRX both taking down their respective opponents, SeolHaeOne Prince and Afreeca Freecs 2-0. With this loss, SP goes on a 12 match losing streak.

Gen.G did not shy away from SP’s aggression in game 1. While things looked even throughout most of the game through exchange of kills, Gen.G was able to slowly, but surely extend their global gold lead and showed that they were on another level. The Player of the Game (POG) went to Ruler, who played a key role in each teamfight.

Game 2 went in favor of Gen.G as well. The game looked eerily similar to that of game 1, as SP took the fight to Gen.G at every opportunity. Instead of opting for a cleaner macro gameplay, Gen.G fought back with harder aggression. As the skirmishes went on, Gen.G was inching ahead at every advantage point, and the game ended in 25 minutes with a 15,000 global gold lead.

DRX took down Afreeca Freecs in game 1. Afreeca Freecs put early priority on their mid-jungle, but not only did their side lanes take heavy losses, DRX also gained priority in the mid lane as well. There was an opportunity for AF to come back into the game in the mid-game, but the jungler for DRX, Pyosik, was able to steal Baron, thus leading into the destruction of AF’s nexus.

Game 2 went in favor of DRX as well. The state of the game was even throughout most of the game, and the teamfight near the dragon pit was something that made the fans watching at home very excited. However, the game came to an abrupt end, as DRX was able to bait AF near the baron pit, and was able to catch them off guard. The teamfight that followed after was a landslide victory for DRX, and they were able to destroy AF’s nexus.
