On July 18th (KST), in the 2020 League of Legends Champions Korea Summer Split, Gen.G defeated T1 for the first time since 2018 Regional finals. It was a clean 2-0 victory for Gen.G as Gwak “Bdd” Bo-seong and Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk showed top-notch performances. After the match, Bdd and Ruler were interviewed by the casters’ desk as players of the games.

Congratulations on today’s win. How do you feel? It’s been long since you’ve won against T1.

Ruler: It feels really long since we won, and I feel even better since we won 2-0. I don’t even remember when we won last.

Bdd: T1 was a team we really had to beat. I really did my best and I feel good that the hard work has paid off.

How were your mindsets playing against T1 today?

Ruler: Our coaching staff told us to not be too conscious about the opponent, so we tried to do that. Our forms recently have been improving. The individual performances were quite good, so I think that’s why we were able to win.

There aren’t that many games that you had such high damage participation. It was more than 50%.

Ruler: I didn’t see the stats after the game, so I didn’t know.

People have many different opinions on the Orianna pick. What do you think?

Bdd: It feels that all teams are picking Orianna when there’s nothing to play. Looking at the players who play Orianna often, like LPL’s Rookie, unless played aggressively like Rookie does, Orianna isn't that good. I’ve been watching his VODs and trying to play like him.

Zoe’s a champion that’s like a symbol of a strong mid laner. Is the champion simply good?

Bdd: People are often annoyed to death when Zoe appears whether she’s in our team or the enemy’s team. That’s a big plus. I think she’s simply a good champion.

This is now an official question to Bdd. How would you rate your performance today?

Bdd: Although I didn’t do that well in the first game, since we won against a team that we really needed to beat, I’ll give myself 5 out of 10.

Your next match is against Team Dynamics. How are your resolutions?

Ruler: We’ve been doing alright recently. Moving forward, we’ll continue to show good performances.

Bdd: It feels that our form has been improving steadily. We’ll work hard to raise the bar even higher.
