Riot Games' Global Contract Database was updated today, July 15th, adding Greyson "Goldenglue" Gilmer to Evil Geniuses' roster as a Mid Laner under a seven day contract. Daniele "Jiizuke" di Mauro is EG's current Mid Laner, and is still listed under the Evil Geniuses banner as well. Evil Geniuses has not yet announced the roster update and it is unclear if Goldenglue's addition to the roster is long term.

Goldenglue most recently played for Golden Guardians, helping the team overcome an expected 10th place, instead making Playoffs in the Spring Split. However, over the off-season, Tanner "Damonte" Damonte was signed to the team, taking over as GG's LCS Mid Laner. Goldenglue later tweeted out that he was interested in playing roles and coaching positions.

Evil Geniuses has not had a particularly convincing Split, though they are currently tied for 4th at with a 5-5 record. Jiizuke specifically has had a rough few weeks as well, ending up on our E1 Fantasy Bust List three weeks in a row. The team has recently been putting him on champions like Karma, who don't necessarily fit his playstyle.

Moving Goldenglue onto the team could give them a potential seven man roster as well, pairing him with Heo "Huni" Seung-hoon, who is currently backing up Colin "Kumo" Zhao in Academy. Huni has historic synergy with Bae "Bang" Jun-sik, after playing together with him on SKT (now T1) a couple years ago. Goldenglue also has his own historical synergy with EG Jungler, Dennis "Svenskeren" Johnsen and other past Cloud9 members, after playing with him on Cloud9 in the 2018 Summer Split. They'd eventually go on to beat TSM in the Semifinals, proving that their combo has a high ceiling.

On July 15, Goldenglue hinted at the move, tweeting out a the "scheming purple monster" emoji, often used in relation to EG. Additionally, Michael "Veteran" Archer said the TSM roster move adding Erik "Treatz" Wessén to the team would keep the total number of Europeans in the LCS the same, insinuating that a current European would lose his spot.

This is a developing story, and Inven Global will update upon further news.

UPDATED 7/15: Jacob Wolf and ESPN have released a report that Huni and Goldenglue will be starting for this weekend's LCS games, though it has not been confirmed. Inven Global has reached out to Evil Geniuses for comment.

UPDATED 7/16: Evil Geniuses has responded with an official comment on their roster for Week 6. "We have given Goldenglue some time to scrim with main roster featuring Huni in place of Kumo, and after evaluation, have decided to start both Goldenglue and Huni in this weekend's games."

UPDATED 7/21: Goldenglue's contract has been extended through the end of the 2020 season, as listed on the Global Contract Database
